I DID MY ONLINE LEARNING THROUGH MOCC UKM. I HAVE TWO CERTIFICATE IN ISU-ISU PENDIDIKAN DI MALAYSIA AND BLENDED LEARNING. BLENDED LEARNING From my view, blended learning combines both formal (traditional classroom) and non-formal (online courses). Students are expected to come to class and already have watched some videos or other kind of instruction. Students are able to pause the video and work at their own pace. For example, students can complete their homework by watching the videos. Based on Commonwealth of Learning's Guide to Blended Learning by Martha-Cleveland Innes and Dan Wilton, there are two major theories underlying blended learning. i. The Complex Adaptive Blended Learning System (CABLS) There are six elements presented in this theory, including learner, teacher, content, technology, learning support and institution. This system is presented in dynamic form and non linear. Each subsystem has their own subsystem and interact with one another to form a system of blended learning. ii. The Community of Inquiry Framework This theory emphasises on three main elements, which are cognitive, teaching and social presence. Personally, I do think that both theories are pivotal in implementing blended learning. However, in my opinion, The CABLS theory is more convenient as it promotes a holistic and systematic view of blended learning. The subsystems in this framework clearly correlate to each other which illustrates the adaptive nature of blended learning My materials..... IN MOCC.
